About Peter Dolan

In the late 90’s a friend and architectural colleague Patrick Glorieux dragged me out to a free art lesson at Bob Grant’s School of Fine Art (motto: ‘Live masters who paint like dead ones’). We stayed for three years. After that Patrick dragged me to an etching course or two at the Ottawa School of Art. Later we both built our own presses and joyfully in retirement we have both put them to good use.

When I am not printing, I am painting in oils. My wife and I are both retired architects. We share a studio in our home overlooking Kamaniskeg Lake which is where we settled after a life and careers in Ottawa. My favourite subjects are people and interiors. My hope with printmaking is to produce large poster size pieces of work. Lithography and photogravure techniques will be the next sandbox to play in.
